Chart Settings

Chart Types

This lets you choose what type of charts to display. Choices are:
  • by Category
  • by Description
  • by Tags
  • by Accounts

This also changes the report that is created with the chart to match the type of chart being displayed.

Chart Display

Lets you choose to display just the top chart, bottom chart or both charts together. There is a splitter between the charts that will let you size the charts when displaying both. And both charts are connected by the same filters. So, clicking on a slice of the Pie Chart will change the Bar chart to reflect the Pie Chart changes.

Other Slice

The Pie Chart can have many slices. Some with very small amounts. This setting allows you to decide what percentage of your chart to you want to be included in your chart. If you set this setting at 3%, only slices that total 3% or lower of the total chart totals will be included in the Other Slice. This makes your larger slices of the chart easier to read. Clicking on the Other Slice will bring up all the categories within that slice.

Marks or Labels

Selecting this will turn on the labels of either the Bar or the Chart chart and can be turned on or off depending on your needs.

Animation

The charts, by default, are animated. This can slow down the display of the chart and people like me, who like to see results the second I make a change, can shut off this option and changes are displayed without the animation. Animations work better on faster PCs and Macs.
