  • Prepared both the Windows and Mac versions for upcoming OS Updates.
  • Pie Chart now defaults to 3% for the Other Slice.
  • In certain conditions, MintToReport would hide the Auto Import Confirmation message behind the program, thus locking it up. Fixed.
  • Windows: MintToReport no longer looks for the Downloads folder in the registry. It would cause a Windows permission error on startup.
  • Mac: Adjusted some of the forms where buttons were overlapping.
  • Some report column headers were being cut off. Fixed.

When found it will prompt you or automatically import your file. This makes it easier when you are making changes on Mint and want to see them in MintToReport.

3.1.0.0 changes for all OS Version

  • NEW! Interactive Charts!
As promised, MintToReport now has interactive charts. As you create reports, you are creating charts at the same time, and vice versa!
  • NEW UI changes! A few minor user interface changes to help organize the buttons more logically.
  • NEW OPTIONS let you personalize MintToReport:
    –  When RESETTING the report or chart you can now set the default date range rather than MintToReport displaying all of your inquiries which in some cases takes a few seconds to load.
    – Now you can view negative numbers in RED (now default)
    – Choice of displaying the report in ascending or descending dates on startup.
    – Choice of which report you would like to have displayed on start including opening the last report when MintToReport was closed last.
    – Optional default startup date range
The Account, Category and Description reports move the ‘Notes’ column in place of its own column. Now you have the choice of leaving that column in place or choosing the column to replace it.
  • New “Period Report”! This report replaces the “4 Period Comparison Report”. It now gives you a choice of comparing 1,2 or 3-period comparisons (more to come). Also, when comparing just two periods, a Difference column is displayed rather than a Grand Total.
  • New! The Total Button can now be used for the Description, Category, and Tag reports.
  • New! Added hints for all buttons and controls. Hints are an option. Long hints (detailed hints) are displayed for new users or new installations. Short hints start displaying after a user has imported more than 3 times or hints can be disabled in the options.
  • New! The Totals Button now available in the Descriptions, Categories, Tag and Account report.
  • Added smarter AND / OR logic to the ‘Text Filter’.
  • New!: Now you can Hide/Show Unused Categories. This makes it easier to see only the categories that matter to you. The only exception to this is if on import, if a new category that is ‘Unknown to MintToReport’, all categories will be shown until the unknown category is moved to another parent category.
  • Hopefully, sped up the loading of the Help File.
  • Fixed: MacOS 10.13 mix: Menu’s now work correctly again on Sierra 10.13
  • Fixed: Some earlier versions, the ‘User Report’ was not being saved and recalled accurately.
  • Fixed (Win64): Removed all INDY components from the software as they weren’t being used and were causing false positive results in some virus checking programs.

Version 3.02 released

To check your version you have installed, in MintToReport:

  • Go to the Help Menu > About MintToReport, for Windows users
  • Go to the MintToReport > About MintToReport, for macOS users.

3.0.2 changes for all OS Version

Licensed Users: Just log in to the site, or click on the Support link at the top right-hand side of this page to download the latest release.

Warning! I had to change the way I save and recall user reports with this version. Sorry, but you might have to re-save your reports again. I had no choice on this one. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.

  • Notes were not being imported correctly. This build updates the database on the fly when installing this as an update. A new installation doesn’t need the update the database.  This fixes the error when importing notes.,
  • When clicking the report to see details of a transaction, the Notes field was not enabled so you couldn’t scroll when viewing long notes. Fixed.
  • Mac version now only displays build numbers in the about box.
  • A new message will pop up whenever there is a new version of the software available. Right now it will take you to the website showing you the changes so you can decide if you want to update. In my opinion, always update.
  • Version 3.0.1 broke the DATE Column toggle between ascending dates and descending dates. Fixed.
  • Removed the Transaction Descending Report. Just didn’t make sense because all you have to do to toggle between ascending and descending dates is to click on the DATE column header. I thought it would be more ‘NEW’ user-friendly, but I think it was just confusing. That’s right, I made a personal choice.
  • Windows 64-bit: Created and Access Violation when editing the Header. Fixed.
  • If an Account, Tag or Category had either a single quote or double quote and you tried to filter by it, the software would return an SQL Error. Fixed.
  • If Filtering by Text, if your filter included a single or double quote the software would return an SQL Error.
  • When filtering by Tags, if you checked ‘And’ or ‘Or’ it was not enabling the ‘Update Button’.
  • macOS version: User reports were crashing pretty consistently. It might have affected the Windows versions too, though I have never had a report and I have never been able to duplicate the error on Windows 32-bit or 64-bit. Fixed now for all version anyhow.
  • Other minor bug fixes

Thanks for the users who have reported problems with MintToReport. It only makes the program better for everyone.

Version 3.0.1 Now Available for Win 32-bit, Win 64-bit and macOS versions!

Finally, Windows 64-bit and macOS versions are now available. Since MintToReport has been on the market for more than two years now, to keep it simple, both Windows 64-bit and the macOS version are going to have the same version number as the Windows 32-bit version. Since all of the three OS versions of MintToReport 3 were created from the same source code, it just made sense.

For those that currently have a current license of MintToReport for Windows, you will be able to upgrade to a different OS version at no cost. Your support will need to be current, though. This FREE upgrade might not last for long as there could be an upgrade charge to move to a different OS version down the road, so take advantage of it now!

Version 3.0 for Windows 32 now avaialble

2017-01-13_0741

MintToReport 3.0 has finally arrived. This version is the Windows 32 bit version (2.0 was a Win32 bit also). For those that are looking for a Windows 64 or macOS version, expect those releases this month also.

What is new in MintToReport 3.0? Here are some other new features:

  • Version 3.0 isn’t an upgrade to MintToReport 2.0. 3.0 has been rewritten from the ground up so I can support multiple OS’s. I’ve learned a lot over the last three years from support email. I think I created a user interface that makes creating simple to complex reports a breeze. No more digging through buried menus to find what you are looking for to create a report. Everything is now right in front of you.
  • MintToReport now actually understands your categories and subcategories allowing me to add four new reports to the software, with more, including charts for each report available right down the road.
  • MintToReport understands what your categories are now, Income, Expense, and Equity making it perfect for creating Income / Expense Reports or Profit and Loss Statements without you having to manipulate all of your current categories on Mint.com or creating multiple reports to achieve what now can be completed with a few clicks.
  • MintToReport has all the Built in Mint.com categories and subcategories and matches them every time you import.
  • If you have created new subcategories on Mint.com, they will show up in our ‘Other’ categories where you can drag and drop them to the correct parent category. Heck, you can even make them a Parent category itself giving you the control how your reports are displayed.
  • With this new format, and using Mint.com’s Tags you can easily create Profit and loss statements for rental properties you own. Keep track of their deposits in your Equity Type categories. Keep them out of your profit and loss statements Even create tenant move out reports showing what repairs came out of their deposit, all by tagging rents and repairs with their address tag on Mint.com’s site.
  • We now use a brand new database that is compatible with Windows and Mac. Down the road, if you want to move your software between the two operating systems, no problem. Take your data with you. And there is no additional charge to change to a Mac or Windows.
  • New import routine that no longer has problems with importing files that have long notes from Mint.com’s export file.
  • New Cross Tab reports giving you the ability to compare your Categories, Payees, Income & Expenses by periods (Quarterly and Annually) over time.
  • More user-friendly features are making it easier to print the reports you are looking for without having to refer to the website for additional help.
  • A built-in online help file that has been designed to view in the software, online or even on your phone. And because it is a live website, there even is a contact page right in the software if you run into questions. Of course, support is always just an email away too, as always, (helpdesk@realsol.com).
  • New DEMO database is now included in 3.0. For new users to Mint.com or trial customers, some of the built in comparison reports will make no sense to them. Loading the Demo database, which has almost five years of transactions, you will be able to see what your reports might look like in the future if you stick with Mint.com.
  • Added a tip pop up showing you exactly how the report was generated so you can easily learn the filtering system.
  • The Filter by Text has been upgraded to allow filtering by Descriptions, Notes or even the Original Notes (the data given to Mint.com from your financial agencies). Our help file explains how these can be very useful.
  • Added a new Amount Filter that makes it easy to filter and find transactions within a certain amount.
  • And a whole lot more…

Also, coming in an upcoming release, I am adding printable charts for just about every report you can conceive of in the software. But that is where I can use some help. Let me know the things that you still would like to see and the charts that would make sense to you. I am even considering creating Category budgets and charts in a future version but also need you feedback for that.

So, log into the site and see if your support is still current. If so, this is a free update to you. If your support expired within the lats 90 days, renew it today to get the latest release. You can do it right online by clicking on the Support / Renewal tab after you log in. If your support has passed the 90 day grace period, you will have to purchase the software again, but if you log into your account first, You will see we will even give you a discount on that.

After the next few days, I will be starting the Mac beta testing. If you are interested in being a beta tester, send me an email to my personal email account: griffin@realsol.com.

Enjoy MintToReport 3.0 and help spread the word. Without customers, there would be no MintToReport. Thank you for your support!
