How to move your MintToReport license

IMPORTANT

The RESET function was designed to make it easier to move your license from one PC to another. Once you have reset your license on a PC it can NEVER be re-registered on that PC again. Only use this function if you are planning permanent moving MintToReport.

When you install and register your MintToReport license on your PC it is pretty much locked there. One of the new features in version 1.5.0.0 is the ability for customers to RESET their current installation of MintToReport (basically un-registering it) allowing them to install and register it on another PC.

Follow these steps to RESET you current MintToReport installation. You need to be running, at least, version 1.5.0.0 in order to use the RESET function.

  1. Start MintToReport on the PC that you want to move.
  2. Click on the Help Menu > About to bring up the About Box.
  3. Click on the Registration Tab.
  4. Click on the RESET button.
  5. Once MintToReport has confirmed it has been reset you can then uninstall the software and install it on the new PC.

I’m proud to release version 1.0 of MintToReport. I have been using this application now for a year. I wasn’t originally going to release it and just continue to use it for myself. It really was just an exercise in report generation for other applications that I write. But after seeing how many people that use Mint.com kept asking the same question that I have asked in the past. Where are the printable reports on Mint.com? Well, to make it simple, there is no reporting built into Mint.com.

Mint.com is owned by Intuit. As a registered user of both Quicken and Quickbooks (both owned by Intuit) and as a developer I can understand why they don’t offer printable reports for free on Mint.com. The reporting that Intuit has built into these 2 products is excellent. MintToReport in no way is to replace the reporting built into these 2 great programs, but it was designed to just add printable reports for the Mint.com data.
